Enigma源於希臘文─「謎一般神秘難解之事」
90年末，原籍羅馬尼亞，常駐德國的音樂製作人 Michael Cretu 以 Enigma之名執行探索神秘意象的音樂冒險計劃，從個體的心靈、思維、想像、祈禱啟程，穿越生命的真諦逐一抽絲剝繭，揉合羅馬教皇葛利果聖歌頌與遠古的民族語言合聲，躍動於電子合成器與弦樂間，點燃90年代舞曲/ 世界音樂/ 新世紀音樂三合一的心靈聽覺革命。

處女大蝶 "MCMXC A.D./ 西元一九九0年"站上英國金榜榜首，駐留全美流行專輯榜超過五年，93年 "The Cross Of Changes/ 徘徊不定" 再奪英國專輯榜冠軍。96年 "Le Roi Est Mort,Vive Le Roil/ 改朝換代" 沉浸於孤立隔離的情緒國度，2000年 "The Screen Behind The Mirror/ 浮世情"，則是潛入幽暗不安的意識,11年來,Enigma的創作提供啟發性靈的情境，讓樂迷在舞動身軀與靜心冥想間將所有的思緒新陳代謝，沉澱出信仰的能量。
